Rosaries are very special sacramentals...  In essence, they are prayer beads which, properly used, recount sequential meditations on the life, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus, accompanied by His mother, Mary.  As we meditate on each set of mysteries within the Rosary, we are brought closer and closer to Our Lord.

Above is a great stabilized turquoise rosary.  The wiring and the center and crucifix are all in heavy sterling, and the beads are all genuine stabilized turquoise in approximately an 8mm size, although each bead is slightly different from the rest.  The beads are mostly rough-ish, and have a good feel to them, and only a few of them are smooth and slick like marbles.  This is the charm of these beads, I think, that they are all slightly out of proportion with the rest of the beads, and very few are totally round.  Most are 95% round, with some of that rough "feel" to them.  This is a one of a kind piece, and would do for a man or a woman.  One charming feature is that each Pater bead is accented on each end by a sterling connector with a little turquoise rough chip mounted.  The whole effect is unusual, and the total piece is just stunning.  Price:  $275.

Above is my art-deco style rosary.  I thought it was reminiscent of past times, and is made from gold filled 22/gauge wire, hand-faceted AB crystal beads, solid bronze center and crucifix, and it features Swarovski crystal accents around each Pater bead in different colors.  All beads are approx. 8 X 11mm in size. The cone shaped Pater bead caps are solid pewter with gold-antiquing.  The tiny, tiny beadcaps are gold plate.  The center is an unusual one -- Our Lady of Snows.  The crucifix is a modified celtic design.  Click on the picture to get a huge, up close view of this rosary and its total quality construction, and you will see that it is wire-wrapped for never coming apart!  It will also show you the brilliance and opalescence of these gorgeous beads! But, as I've said, these designs can be copied, but no two will ever be exactly alike.  Price: $195.

100_3415.jpg

Above is a unique piece I made with conventional construction on most of the beads (wire wrap only on Pater beads and tiny connectors).  They are simply looped together, but I did use 20/gauge gold filled wire on these, so they won't be coming apart unless you try to tow the car with it.  The center and the crucifix linking units are wire wrapped for solidity.  These glittery beads are what caught my eye at the supply store....they are called goldstone, and are man made semi precious stones.  These are actually brown goldstone, as there is also blue goldstone, and they were invented by accident back in the 19th century when monks in Venice accidentally poured copper flakes into a vat of molten glass. wow!  The copper flakes reflect the light so perfectly.  I loved the way these sparkled in the sunlight.  They are  8mm in size. The yellow pater beads are lemon quartz tumbled nuggets.  The Pater beads are at least twice the size of the Ave beads.  The bead caps are gold plate and the center, Our Lady of Snows, is solid bronze, as is the lovely crucifix.   Price:  $195.

Above is a variation on the brown goldstone rosary just above it.  This one has been made with heavy gauge sterling wire, sterling center and sterling crucifix.  The Pater beads are surrounded by small links with 4mm Swarovski crystals in a Sand Opal color.  Also, this sterling Rosary is wire wrapped, and the bronze one is linked with conventional construction.  The Pater beads are lemon quartz tumbled nuggets, appoximately twice as big as the smaller Ave beads which are 8mm.  Also, there are tiny silver beadcaps on either side of each Ave bead. The piece has a hefty feel to it, and the feeling as the beads slide through the fingers is just amazing.  The goldstone beads, as mentioned in the description of the bronze Rosary, are filled with millions of copper flakes and reflect the light in a dazzling display.  Price:  $225

Above is my remade old rosary.  I had an old rosary that I had almost prayed to pieces.  It kept coming apart, and I must admit that the AB is partially rubbed off the beads, due to constant prayers for years.  I was so attached to this piece, that when it fell apart for the last time (I had gotten it years ago and it was a mass produced, machine made item), I decided to cut it up and remake it even better!  So, I got rid of all the wire and caps, and chopped things into many pieces, and remade this delightful, sentimental piece.  I kept the original crucifix, and added another, newer center.  I also bought new Pater beads, and put antiqued pewter beadcaps around them.  The original clear AB beads are pure Austrian crystal.  I love the new look, and the colored Pater beads give it that unusual quality.  It's totally wire wrapped in sterling wire, and the center and the crucifix are both sterling.  It's accented by some sterling oblong beads, and some Czech fire polished crystals.  Of course, you can't have my old rosary beads.  But I can design you something like this, with any color of Pater beads in this similar style.  Depending on materials, the price varies from around $150 - $200.   Please contact me and we can settle on a price and materials.  Then we'll go from there!  :)

Above are some lovely pictures of a rosary I made with some great handmade glass beads.  They are cut while still hot, and the center opening is lined with silver foil.  No two are alike, and they are similar sized, around 8mm, but not completely the same.  This is the charm of handmade things, I think.... things are not churned out of a machine and made to be all alike.  These beads are dazzling.  They are connected by sterling wire, in wire wrap, accented by tiny Swarovski Austrian crystals in complimenting colors.  The center and crucifix are also solid sterling.  Price:  $225.

ABOVE IS A GREAT ROSARY I MADE WITH FRESHWATER PEARLS.  THE WIRING IS STERLING WIRE-WRAP, AND THE CENTER AND CRUCIFIX ARE ALSO STERLING.  THE PIECE IS ENHANCED BY TINY, 3MM SWAROVSKI AUSTRIAN CRYSTALS ON TINY LINKS BEFORE AND AFTER EACH PATER BEAD, AND ALSO ATTACHING THE MAIN STRAND FROM THE CENTERPIECE.  THESE LITTLE CRYSTALS ARE PALE AMBER IN COLOR, AND SET OFF THE PEARLS AMAZINGLY!   EACH PEARL IS SHAPED DIFFERENTLY, AND NO TWO ARE EVER ALIKE.  I THINK THAT'S THE SUPREME CHARM OF FRESHWATER PEARLS -- THEY DON'T LOOK MAN MADE OR MACHINE PRODUCED.  THE SMALLER ONES ARE AROUND 7 - 8MM IN SIZE, AND THE LARGE PATER PEARLS ARE AROUND 10 - 11MM IN SIZE.  THEY ARE ALL GORGEOUS AND REFLECT THE LIGHT AMAZINGLY.  PRICE: $275.

Above is a little pink rosary custom made for a newly born little girl.  Her parents will hang it above her crib for a long time and she will eventually receive it when she's old enough to know what to do with it responsibly.  It's made of Swarovski 6mm crystals in Indian Pink, Czech AB crystals (the large 10mm size for the Pater beads) in a pale pink, with sterling wire and sterling center and crucifix.  Also, there are tiny, 3mm Swarovski crystals in clear AB on the connectors from the center piece and the crucifix.  The whole piece is slightly smaller than most of my creations, but it was made for a little girl and needed to be small and delicate.  It still has heft and a solid feel to it, and it sparkles like mad!  If you'd like one of these in any color or style, it can be made.   Price:  $225

STRUNG ROSARIES ACTUALLY PRE-DATE THE WIRE WRAPPED ONES, AND I DO MAKE ONE ON OCCASION.  THIS ONE WAS UNIQUE, IN THAT I MADE IT FOR A LADY WHO LOVES IT.  IT FEATURED CRYSTAL BEADS WITH A "CRACKLE" FEATURE.  THE BEADS ARE DROPPED VERY HOT INTO ICE WATER, AND IT GIVES THEM THIS GREAT CRACKLING EFFECT.  THE THREE AVES ON THE HANGING CROSS-PIECE ARE ACTUALLY FACETED ANTIQUE CRYSTALS FROM MY DAD.  THE BEADCAPS ARE ALL SOLID PEWTER, ANTIQUED IN A GOLD TONE.  THE TINY BEADS ARE GLASS SEED BEADS.  SOME OF THE SMALLER ONES ARE ALSO FIRE POLISH CRYSTALS FROM THE CZECH REPUBLIC. THE CENTER AND THE CRUCIFIX ARE SOLID BRONZE.  THE SMALLER BEADS ARE 8MM, AND THE LARGER ONES ARE 10MM.  IT'S STRUNG ON VERY STRONG BRONZE COLORED WIRE.  I CAN RECREATE SOMETHING IN THIS FASHION/STYLE, SINCE THIS ONE LIVES WITH A FRIEND.  PRICE:  $200.

Above is a rosary made from natural sodalite.  Sodalite is a great semi precious stone that comes out of the ground in these blue and deep violet shades, with the white streaks of calcite running through them. These are mostly uniform beads, with a very few tiny irregularities, which are just naturally charming.  The surface of the beads are smooth, but not like marbles.  They have a slightly grainy feel about them, as well as the smoothness. They are 8mm in size.  The wire is sterling, the center is sterling, and the crucifix is sterling.  The accent crystals are Swarovski crystals in the connectors and around the Pater beads.  The bead caps are solid pewter in an antiqued finish.  There are no two beads alike on this rosary.  Price:  $225.

Above is a rare piece, in that these Austrian Crystal beads by Swarovski, aren't made any more.  It was one big search to find enough of these to make a rosary.  These are semi-flat, faceted, AB beads, and are commonly called "coin," "nailhead," or "aspirin" beads.  Actually, one side of the bead is AB, and the other side is clear.  These beads are 8mm in size.  They are very hard to find and pretty costly to buy.  These beads are not new, but it may be of interest to you to think of the other fingers that have prayed on them before....  Very close up inspection will show you tiny, tiny little flaws in some of these beads, but I think it only enhances their value.  However, just look at the breathtaking beauty of these crystals, and what an old fashioned, gorgeous rosary they make!  The wiring is sterling, the crucifix is sterling, and the center, a roundish, double sided "puffy" heart, is also sterling.  There aren't a lot of other embellishments, as the beads are so stunning on their own.  However, there are tiny, 3mm Swarovski round crystals on either side of the Pater beads.  I am not sure if another rosary could be made out of these beads to look exactly like this one, as the beads are scarce, however, I have found other colors in these beads from certain suppliers and collectors, and sometimes can find the clear/AB ones.  Just depends...  If you want this one, however, it's available. This is one rare piece.   Price: $325.

Above is a multicolored piece that was designed and requested by a dear friend and customer in Canada.  She told me exactly what she wanted and here is the result, as she wanted to reflect diversity with all these colors.  The cubes are Swarovski 6mm crystals, and the square-ish center and crucifix and wiring are all sterling.  There are little connectors from sterling wire which also hold tiny little 3mm Swarovski crystals in a bicone shape, in multi colors also.  The piece has a hefty feeling about it and it feels very good in the fingers.  The Swarovski Pater beads are always a crystal AB color, surrounded by 4mm Swarovski cubes, so that makes each Pater bead a composite of 3 beads.  I felt that the clear AB Pater beads gave me a good pattern and design to start with, and then came up with a design of ten Ave colors which are exactly repeated in each decade.  This is a most unusual piece!  And it can be remade for you in any color (or clear) that you want.  Price:  $210
